MDedu.org and its parent company, American Academy of Physician Education, have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of learners. The following discloses our practices on gathering and disseminating information for this web site. As a user of a CME activity you are considered a research subject from which performance and outcomes data is collected. Your Consent: By using this web site you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide to us. If we change the privacy policy we will highlight the changes on this page. What types of information does MDedu.org collect? MDedu.org monitors several aspects of general browsing including traffic to specific pages and length of visit. MDedu.org gathers personal information from registrants in two places, registration and checkout. MDedu.org registration is completely optional and if you choose to register we will ask you for your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, fax number and credit card information. MDedu.org gives you options for removing your information from our database in order to discontinue receiving future communications or service. To do this, send an email to unsubscribe@MDedu.org with "Unsubscribe" in the subject field. Once you become a registered user we may collect additional information from you to improve our service to you. Such information includes responses to questions contained in CME activities. To ensure compliance with federal law MDedu.org does not knowingly maintain information provided by children under the age of 13. MDedu.org uses cookies, which assigns a unique identification to your computer. Cookies are typically stored on your computer's hard drive and are used by AA-PE to keep track of your registration, to deliver content specific to your interests and to save your account information so you do not have to enter it during the registration check out process. How does AA-PE use the information I provide online? The information collected from general browsing allows us to see which areas of our web site are most visited and helps us better understand learner experiences at MDedu.org. In the process of gathering navigational information, non personally identifiable information (for example, domain type, browser version, service provider and IP address) may be collected. The personal information we collect will allow us to present you with a more customized experience on MDedu.org. Unique identifiers such as email address and password are collected to verify your identity, for use as account numbers in our record system and for other purposes. When you provide your email address we use it to confirm your registration, provide requested content and otherwise respond to your communication. As an accredited entity, we are required to periodically submit aggregated data about CME participants and the CME activities we certify for the purpose of maintaining records that you can request from us for up to six years. These reports do not include personally identifiable information about you. Commercial supporters of CME activities will receive only aggregated data on outcomes activities from the courses they support. The CME information we collect will allow us to customize and improve future educational activities. Does MDedu.org share or sell my information with third parties? MDedu.org does not share, rent or trade any individual's contact information, financial information, or unique identifiers to any unaffiliated third party. We may share CME information, responses to questions and studies, with third parties through an approved IRB process. Individual data is held in confidence and all data is blinded. If published, only aggregated data is used so that no individual data may be identified. Links to Other Web Sites: MDedu.org content often contains links to other web sites.
